There are times in every person’s life when we are faced
with new, and sometimes difficult passages.  Whether it is a
positive change, such as starting college, moving away from
home, beginning a new career, having a child, or a change
that causes immense grief in our lives, such as the loss of a
loved one, divorce, or health-related issues, the process may
seem overwhelming.   Seeking therapy during times of grief
and/or major life transitions is a beneficial starting point for
finding new ways to use current strengths and abilities to
continue moving forward in life towards a preferred future.
Life is full of surprises and and serendipity. Being open
to unexpected turns in the road is an important part of
success. If you try to plan every step, you may miss
those wonderful twists and turns. Just find your next
adventure-do it well, enjoy it-and then, not now, think
about what comes next. - Condoleeza Rice

Often times during periods of change or transition people are
effected by unwelcomed problems, such as anxiety,
depression, despair, fear and uncertainty.

In the simplest terms, transition means change. Change which
often times cannot be avoided.  These transitions can be
predictable such as a child leaving for college or marriage, or
they can be unpredictable, such as the sudden death of a
loved one or a traumatic accident. Whatever the degree or
intensity of the event, every transition we experience has one
thing in common: It forces us to start a new chapter, putting us
on an unfamiliar path. It is often a very difficult adjustment
accompanied by feelings of fear, doubt, and uncertainty.  These
feelings may seem overpowering.  Transitions have a tendency
to affect everyday life, relationships, and physical well-being.
